"New distillery first legal one in county in decades"
FORT ANN -- When the Lake George Distilling Co. opens for business later this year, it will be the first legal distillery in Washington County since Prohibition. John and Robin McDougall have begun renovating the former Graves Brothers Construction building at 11262 Route 149 and expect to open their microdistillery in late summer or the fall, depending on how long the licensing process takes.
"It's been a long time since anyone made liquor leagaly in Washington County"
The Times Union
Sometime this summer, for the first time since Prohibition ended eight decades ago last month, the county will be home to its one and only legal still, where an enthusiastic amateur and his family will make a bit of the"shine".
"Lake George Distilling Co. is first legal operation to open doors in region"
The Post Star
FORT ANN -- John and Robin McDougall are happy to have their business lead the way toward a tourism market based on craft distilleries.
